EFSET 4 MD – Ondansetron Hydrochloride 4mg Dispersible is an antiemetic medication used to manage nausea and vomiting. It works by acting both centrally and peripherally by blocking 5-HT3 Receptors in area postrema in the brain and depressing the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) that helps in medicating the sensation of nausea and vomiting and peripherally as it antagonizes 5-HT3 Receptors that can be found on vagus nerve terminals which transfer signals to the brain and transmit a sensation of nausea and vomiting. Thus it prevents manage nausea sensation by action on both centrally and peripherally by antagonism of 5-HT3 receptor.
