Ondansetron Hydrochloride Injection IP – A one-stop solution for emesis.
Efest – Ondansetron 2mg/ml
Ondansetron Hydrochloride Injection IP is an antiemetic medication used to manage nausea and vomiting. It works by acting both centrally and peripherally by blocking 5-HT3 Receptors in area postrema in the brain and depressing the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) that helps in medicating the sensation of nausea and vomiting and peripherally as it antagonizes 5-HT3 Receptors that can be found on vagus nerve terminals which transfer signals to the brain and transmit a sensation of nausea and vomiting. Thus, it prevents the management of nausea sensation by action both centrally and peripherally through the antagonism of the 5-HT3 receptor.
